Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery is an indoor stop on the town square. The Quarry offers open-air play and the Dingle garden beside the River Severn. Attingham is outside the town at Atcham, with natural play and woodland walks. Choose a town-centre plan or allow time for a separate estate visit rather than assuming all three are next door.
Ordinary museum and park visits are free, with travel and refreshments separate. Attingham sells grounds-only and house-and-grounds tickets, with family rates and member eligibility. A grounds ticket suits outdoor play; confirm mansion access before choosing it as a wet-weather option. Paid tours and seasonal activities can have separate terms.
The museum’s 2026 schedule closes Sundays and Mondays; lifts and accessible toilets are available inside. The Quarry’s published splash season ends on 27 September, so plan dry play in autumn. Attingham welcomes pushchairs outdoors but asks visitors to leave them outside the mansion. Check current calendars, council event notices and each venue’s access information before travelling.
