Nottingham Castle Museum & Grounds
Robin Hood activities, art and Nottingham history in a museum with historic grounds.
Adult £18 + booking fee · eligible children free
Plan your visitCompare Robin Hood discovery, natural history and free science activities across three Nottingham attractions.
Nottingham Castle centres on museum galleries, interactive Robin Hood displays and historic grounds. Wollaton Hall offers natural-history and dinosaur galleries, with a grounds-only outdoor option. Green’s Science Centre has hands-on experiments and a garden, while the windmill building is closed for repairs. These are different visits, so start with your children’s interests.
Both the Castle and Wollaton Hall advertise £18 adult admission with year-long return access and up to three free accompanied children aged 15 and under per paying adult. Castle booking fees and tour add-ons are separate. Wollaton grounds are free but parking costs £5 weekdays or £6 weekends. Green’s has free core entry and requires registration for its advertised two-hour free parking.
Green’s normally opens Wednesday–Sunday, so it is not a usual Monday or Tuesday option. Check Wollaton’s seasonal gates and confirm hall last entry, which differs across official pages. Gallery lifts do not make every historic tour accessible: Castle caves and some Wollaton tours involve stairs. Check the chosen route, current repairs and dated activity calendar before travelling.
